anCnoc Vintage 2009 has been matured in Spanish and American oak casks and has been bottled in its most natural form, neither coloured or non-chill filtered. As a result this dram may develop a light haze with the addition of water or if kept at a cold temperature. This haze is a natural characteristic of whisky that is non chill-filtered.
Delicate spices of American oak, with notes of citrus, green apples and sweet toffee. All wrapped up in the classic honey and citrus flavours which are typical of anCnoc single malt whisky.
Rich spiciness, sweet green apples, dark chocolate with hint of butterscotch which adds more complexity to this fine single malt resulting in a smooth and delicate finish.
Ancnoc's distinct fruity, citric, and honeyed flavor is reminiscent of the whisky produced by Knockdhu Distillery over a century ago, thanks to the preservation of its two original pot stills. To achieve this unique taste, Ancnoc is aged in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks. Moreover, the whisky is free from chill filtration and artificial coloring, which enhances its light fruitiness.
